Stag parties can be a real headache to organize once you get past the ‘must include booze’ clause. A trip to the local off-license and that part is easily sorted. However, the reality of a stag party usually includes a middle-aged contingent with illusions of youth, as well as lads who’ve just recently popped their drinking cherry. Some want to drop Jägerbombs at a club, while others might choose to sit fireside and sip on a single malt. You just try getting the old boys out of a club once they’re on a roll.

The trick to organizing a stag party is, besides the booze, having a focus to the event. Here we have put together six diverse suggestions that should hit the spot:

Whisky Tasting

Our very own Glengoyne Distillery runs whisky tours that will have you weaving amongst the copper stills and sampling the local uisge beatha. Tours range from a short 1 hour Wee Tasting Tour to The Masterclass, a 5 hour “wonderfully immersive day of nosing, swirling and tasting.” With the latter you get to create your own blend and are presented with a 200ml bottle of the one-off creation, a bespoke gift and Master Class certificate at the end.

Pakora Masterclass

This spicy stag option means everyone is hands-on. Mr Singh’s can give the boys the chance to rub aromatic spices onto chicken, haggis and vegetables and sample their own work, and enjoy those cooked by their chef. After that the stag party can relax and enjoy a sit down 3 course meal with a few beers. It’s a classic stag night really, but with a bit of food-prep thrown in.

FootGolf

Yup, that’s correct; two of our favourite sports combined to produce a very funny afternoon on the golf course. No golfing or football skills required, and an 18-hole golf course and football will be supplied. We want to see the photos of that one. Bonnie Affair will see to all the details for you.

Poker

If you fancy a personalized three-hour private poker session, with a private host for the evening, drinks and a buffet, then this is the one for you. The host will meet and greet the party on arrival and introduce them to their dealer for the evening. Then it’s all shifty eyes around the table while you raise the stakes. Bonnie Affair will see to the details for you.

Highland Games

This is the stag activity to separate the men from the boys. The group will be separated into Clans (Bride V Groom perhaps?) and spend 2 hours taking part in a number of mini Highland Game challenges that include; tug-o-war, weight o’er the bar, caber tossing and hurling wellies. Bonnie Affair or Action Adventures will see to the details.

Action Adventures

Action Adventures at Gartmore have a comprehensive range of activities to keep a stag party entertained for a few hours or the whole day. The multi-activity day encompasses a variety of pursuits in and around Easterhill Farm. Take on the amphibious assault course and have a go at 4×4 off-road driving, target sports (archery, air rifles and axe throwing) and mountain boarding. The activities are rotated throughout the day with a barbecue lunch.

Have fun boys!
