At over 200 years old, Drymen Show is the grande dame of the local event circuit, and this year looks to be a belter with great weather forecast. Located within Drymen showfield, the gates are open to the public from 8am, with the showing classes kicking off at 9am promptly. As the day progresses, the road can get congested, so an early start is no bad thing.

There are the usual livestock and equestrian showing classes and this makes for great spectating. A special treat this year is Les Amis d’Onno (Scotland’s Equine Stunt Team) who entertain with impressive Horsepower Cossack Stunt Show and Ridden Archery Skills. It’s quite spectacle, having been the entertainment at bigger shows such as Blair Atholl Horse Trials.

Of course there are all the usual livestock showing classes and pens to check out, but there are plenty of other activities to keep everyone in the family amused:

  • Sheep shearing demo (and opportunity to try)
  • Pets competition (guinea pigs, chickens, bunnies, hamsters) entries up until Friday
  • Strathendrick Pipe Band
  • Helicopter Rides
  • Vintage Tractors
  • KG Hawks Falconry Demo
  • Kids Fancy Dress (mounted)
  • Craft Tents
  • Baking
  • Various stalls
  • Fun Fair

Craft Stalls

This year there are an abundance of trade stalls, and a superb and diverse selection of craft stalls. In particular, look out for fantastic and unique items for your pooch.

Love Bite Dog Treats will have water available for your thirsty pooch within the dog-friendly craft tent, a selection of delicious and natural dog treats to try and the most stunning selection of stylish and orginal handmade dog coats for the cooler months ahead. A wee heads-up – keep an eye out for leaflets being distributed with special offer prices.

Bandanas Sml £8, Med £9, Lge £10
