This Big Weekend is where artisan produced Scottish gin meets an eclectic selection of quality local crafts, homeware, food & produce. This Big Weekend has delicious local pies & cakes, plus food & drink tastings and a sprinkling of yoga & alternative therapies to try. Oh, and the most delicious and crispy wood fired pizzas for lunch.

If you love gin, cake, crafts, jewellery, beautiful homeware and a mini festival vibe, then the Green Gallery Big Weekend is definitely where is it at. The owner of the Green Gallery, Becky Walker, wanted to bring the overwhelming selection of local Scottish talent together for one big fun weekend, and it looks as though she has created a superb event.

This mini festival will be burgeoning with local talent, so sample some craft gin from local start-up company The Gin Thing (fab for private events, wedding, garden parties) while you have a no-obligation wander around the many stalls and gazebos, tasting & sampling some rather fantastic local produce.

Health & Wellbeing

There will be the opportunity to try yoga, with beginners taster sessions, as well as massage sessions, body alignment focus and a naturopath to give advice on diet (and healthy smoothies to try).

Lifestyle & Beauty

Clothes, handbags, scarves and styling advice. Also a selection of lovely skincare lotions & potions to peruse. Not forgetting aromatic and therapeutic candles for your home.

Art, Homes & Gardens

The diversity of things on offer here makes this special: mosaics items for the home or garden, unique homeware items and advice on planting and gardening from the talented Holly Nairn. Inside the Green Gallery there is a huge show featuring 100 paintings, sculptures and craft items, and another five stands with jewellery and homeware.

Food & Drink

Did I mention artisan Scottish gin? That, and homemade cakes and locally produced pies. Loads of products to sample and fresh wood-fired pizza for lunch. Bring your picnic blanket and be ready to embrace the festival vibe.

The Little Folk

Lots to keep kids amused, with tennis taster sessions, games, trampoline (MUST be supervised by parents!) and pony grooming and rides on Sunday.

There are so many talented folk attending the Big Weekend, it’s hard to pick a few, but here is a wee taster of what you will find there:

Talented local artist Iona Buchanan will be showcasing her lobster range; a collection of homeware based on her stunning painting of a blue lobster. The rather lovely and delicate Garden Birds range features some of our most popular garden birds and is sure to bring a smile to the face of anyone with a bird feeder in their garden.

Karen McGregor Jewellery

Now this is one stall that I have earmarked. Loving the beautiful organic silver shapes and  the stunning sea glass.

Morna’s Mosaics

I am inspired by nature and my work reflects this. I love using old roof slates and broken crockery along with glass and other tesserae to create beautiful, affordable pieces of art.

Heather Margaret Grace

Heather Margaret Grace is a lifestyle print brand based in Edinburgh, Scotland, started by two sisters in honour of their mother and grandmothers. They will be selling a collection of their Scottish and Wild West Americana inspired printed gift and homewares as well as some limited edition silk scarves.

 

Twine

You might have seen the cute little shop next to the Woodhouse Cafe. Twine will be selling herbs (the usual & the unusual) for you to grow on yourself. Try Cult Vinegar – fabulous unpasteurised live vinegars, made in small batches from premier wines which taste delicious. Also their Tonics which are Apple Cider Vinegar infused with botanicals to give a very distinctive flavour, & have all the benefits relating to cholesterol & blood sugar. All just a little bit different.

Entry to the event is free, but there will be a £5 tariff per car if parking at the event. It would be a good idea to car share with friends, or park safely in Buchlyvie and perhaps walk to the event.
