Close to the villages of Aberfoyle, Gartmore, Killearn, Buchlyvie & Balfron, and a short drive from Glasgow or Stirling, Macmillans has a enviable conservatory setting with stunning views to the the Trossachs.

A perfect spot for meeting friends or family, Macmillans is also an ideal venue for networking groups to meet during the week.

Macmillans Lunches

All ingredients are sourced, as far as possible, locally and everything on the menu is cooked from scratch by Chef-owner David. His passion for producing quality dishes, at a reasonable price point, is signature for Macmillans and their success is evident from the 5* reviews and returning customers.

If you are planning to arrive with a few people, booking is advised to avoid disappointment, and please allow time for us to make your lovely fresh lunch from scratch.

We can accommodate most dietary requirements providing we are given advance warning #coeliac #glutenfree #dairyfree #paleo

We keep our lunch menu simple and fresh, with a few perenial favourites.

Coffee & Cakes

Did we mention cake? We do cake. All of it freshly made (nothing ‘bought in’ here). We have the usual favourites, plus some more unusual (and popular ones) such as Caramac Fancies.

Bistro Nights

Bistro nights are our ‘gourmet’ experience at Macmillans, and usually occur on a Thursday evening. BYOB, and enjoy a fantastic culinary experience as David gets to really show off his skills in the kitchen. The two or three course set menu has great choices, and is a perfect excuse to book a table with friends and have a lovely night away from the kids.

There is a small corkage charge, and a great atmosphere in the bistro. The conservatory is festooned with fairy lights, and with a relaxed vibe, it’s well suited to a romantic night for two, or to cater to a more buzzy table of old friends.

Booking is essential, and tables go very quickly. Keep an eye on the Facebook page for the next Bistro Night.

Dave’s Diner

Notes

The view of the mountains is amazing. Lovely friendly staff and the food. I have had the breakfast (only just managed to eat it all, but I had to it was so nice.) The burgers on Dave’s Diner are filling and are not fast food, a proper butcher style burger, plenty of meat. Bistro night was special and the food absolutely stunning. If you are in the area you have to visit. I would strongly recommend Dave’s diner and the bistro nights for that something a little more special.

Well what can I say? A diamond find. My kids, hubby and I had lunch here yesterday and back for breakfast today, faultless. Totally recommend the Goats cheese, beetroot, rocket and onion toastie A great selection of delicious homemade cakes also, I even spied Gluten free too! Fresh coffee and a stunning view, what else can you ask for. Next time we will definitely be booking into one of the special Bistro nights. Nicola at front of house was so welcoming, friendly and professional, what a wee star . Cannot wait to return.

Just had brunch and it just hit the spot. Always well worth the journey from Alloa. Staff friendly and great food with a view as well as a well stocked Garden Centre next door.

This is an undiscovered gem. A relaxed bistro feel, with locally sourced ingredients and all dishes made from scratch. Very reasonably priced too. Smoked salmon was the best. Great venue for a day out from the city, to meet friends for coffee or lunch. It’s my favourite meeting place, and the views from the conservatory restaurant are fantastic. Yet to try Dave’s Diner on a Friday night, but hear great things.

We’ve eaten here many time since the Macmillan take over and the food and service is consistently excellent. Can’t wait for the next Gourmet/Bistro Night!
