Edinburgh International Science Festival

The Edinburgh International Science Festival delivers one of Europe’s largest science festivals, giving audiences amazing experiences through a programme of innovative and inspiring discussions, workshops, performances, screenings, special events and exhibitions.
A family programme jam-packed with inspiring shows and workshops has been created, where visitors of all ages can get hands-on with cutting-edge science through interactive events and workshops on everything from accessible technologies to spacecraft, dinosaurs and the inner workings of the human body and mind.

Now in its 35th year, the Puppet Animation Festival is the largest festival for children’s performing arts, with 165 puppetry performances, workshops and animated films in more than 90 venues across Scotland. Events include puppet making and animation workshops, puppet theatre and animated films, with events in English and Gaelic.
Dumfries & Galloway Wild Science Festival

Visitors can release their inner scientist at this annual extravaganza of workshops, stalls, demonstrations and interactive displays. Activities include designing and making rockets, using digital microscopes, learning to juggle, animal handling, K’NEX challenges and so much more.

Special events for Easter include ‘Operation Earth’, which sees youngsters transformed into doctors of the planet in an interactive family show; along with the Meet the Expert days, where scientists at the forefront of Polar research, marine life and forestry will be on hand to share stories of what it’s like to live in some of the most hostile environments on Earth, and demonstrate the fascinating technology involved in their jobs.
Cadbury Easter Egg Hunt with the National Trust of Scotland

With over 40 different locations taking part in this delicious chocolatey event including Robert Burns Birthplace Museum and Kellie Castle, the Cadbury’s Easter Egg Trail is a hard event to resist. The whole family is welcome and younger visitors can become explorers for the day by enjoying different attractions for them to gain their chocolatey reward. Each hunt is completely different and unique at each venue with even more of an excuse to hop along to as many attractions as possible.
Pirate Easter Egg Treasure Hunt

Epilepsy Scotland Easter Egg Trail

Hop along to Epilepsy Scotland’s second annual Easter Egg Trail. Children of all ages can follow the map to locate all the clues to find their chocolatey prize. With colouring-in, a pop up café and a special visit from the Easter Bunny himself, it’s a perfect way to spend Easter Sunday with friends and family.
